Eugene Goldman said regarding a record SEC award of $30 million to a corporate whistleblower that “the percentage of recovery could have been higher, but the SEC expressed concern with the claimants’ delay in reporting the information. It now appears that future awards may be cut even more when none of the delay can be blamed on conduct occurring before the commencement of the SEC’s whistleblower program.”
