Carlyn McCaffrey told the Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning that, even if the Trump Administration and Congress eliminate the estate tax, “Clients should take largely the same steps until we know, and then even some time after.” While urging caution, she added that “no planner wants their client to be the last one to have to pay the estate tax.”
