Massachusetts DOR Says Company’s Lease of Tablets to Restaurant Is Subject to Tax

Stephen Kranz said a Massachusetts Department of Revenue ruling (which held that a company leasing tablets with preloaded software to a state restaurant is responsible for collecting and remitting the state’ssales and use tax “reflects that the states and businesses alike are struggling to address the tax issues that arise with modern day technology.”
