David Goldman was profiled as founder of the Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics, or FASPE, an innovative, nonfaith-based philanthropic organization which uses the Holocaust to help graduate students in the professions examine the complex moral choices posed by contemporary ethical issues. Rather than treat the Holocaust as abstract history, Mr. Goldman’s program offers real-life lessons on how the doctrines that guide such professions as law and medicine went calamitously astray in the rise of Nazi Germany.
