Linda Doyle was interviewed regarding Labor Department efforts to improve Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) compliance, noting that guidance is needed because “the regulations are woefully outdated. More education of employers is critical … [and] employers are constantly reminded of their obligations under Title VII, state anti-discrimination law and the like but receive little guidance.” Ms. Doyle also said more education is needed “in applying the outdated FLSA regulations to the modern workforce,” such as employer obligations in employee use of work-issued technology outside the workplace.
