Overview
Alexander Lee and Alejandro Ruiz left other major law firms to join the Los Angeles and Silicon Valley offices respectively as tax partners to enhance McDermott’s West Coast transactional tax capabilities. Mr. Lee said McDermott has given him and Mr. Ruiz a “huge opportunity” to grow the West Coast tax practice, which he called often overlooked compared to high-profile counterparts on the East Coast, while Mr. Ruiz saw McDermott as being in the forefront of “a lot of changes” involving private equity in the health care sector.
