Overview
Frankfurt (February 7, 2017) – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery advised Silver Investment Partners (SIP) on the takeover of a majority of Varicor S.A.S and its wholly owned subsidiary Varicor GmbH by Geberit Group. SIP first took over the Schüschke Group in 2015 as an investment platform. The business relations between Varicor and Schüschke, which have existed for over 30 years, will be strengthened through the takeover of Varicor, the leading producer of mineral materials. Schüschke will in particular use the mineral materials of Varicor for the production of wash basins for the aeronautics industry.
This transaction was the first transaction led by Dr. Michael Cziesla as a Frankfurt partner at McDermott after joining in January with Counsel Norman Wasse. Before joining McDermott, Michael and Norman advised SIP on the purchase of the Schüschke Group as well as on other transactions. This transaction not only shows their expertise in the field of aerospace but also their efforts to build the private equity practice at McDermott.
