McDermott Will & Emery advised German Premier League Football club Fortuna Düsseldorf on the completion of a new lease agreement for the “Merkur Spiel Arena” stadium with D.Live, a subsidiary of the City of Düsseldorf. As a result, Fortuna’s home stadium is now secured for another two years.
Assisted by McDermott, Fortuna also secured a comprehensive rights package for marketing and branding. Some of these rights will be reassigned to D.Live, allowing the club to compensate parts of the increased rent linked to the new contract term.
