McDermott Will & Emery has advised German Mittelstand investor Halder on the acquisition of a majority stake in Anker Kassensysteme GmbH in a management buy-out. The management of Anker Kassensysteme co-invests alongside Halder in the transaction and becomes a minority shareholder.
Anker Kassensysteme GmbH, based in Bielefeld, Germany, offers hardware and solutions for the point-of-sale of customers in the retail, drugstore, gastronomy, bakery, petrol station and healthcare sectors. The product portfolio includes in particular cash cassettes, cash drawers and poles. Founded in 1876, the company is the market leader for cash cassettes in the DACH region with over 600,000 installed cash cassettes.
Halder, based in Frankfurt, is an investment company with a focus on medium-sized businesses in German-speaking countries. Since its foundation in 1991, Halder has provided a total of 42 medium-sized companies with equity capital for succession and growth. Halder supports the companies in which it invests on international expansion, further strategic development and provides funding for investments to expand capacities and for add-on acquisitions.
