MUNICH – McDermott Will & Emery has advised the shareholders of AirCert GmbH on the sale of 100 percent of their shares to BSI Group Deutschland GmbH. The parties have agreed not to disclose the transaction volume.
AirCert GmbH is a Munich-based certification company for the aerospace industry. Through the sale, the company will become a subsidiary of BSI and will operate under the name “AirCert – A BSI Assurance Company”.
BSI Group Deutschland GmbH is the German subsidiary of BSI Group (British Standard Institution), a service company specializing in standard development, training, auditing and certification. Founded in 1901 and at that time the world’s first standards organization, BSI today operates from locations in 30 countries with more than 4,500 staff. With the acquisition of AirCert BSI is expanding its range of services in the aerospace and defense sector in the DACH region.
