McDermott and Kaufman Hall Launch “Surviving Disruption: A Roadmap for Health Care Governance”

Overview

CHICAGO (Jan. 19, 2018)—Business disruption within the health care industry is inevitable and poses a central challenge for health care governance. The high costs and lack of convenience make the health care industry highly vulnerable to disruption in the form of innovative, nontraditional competitors. To help boards prepare for disruption, international law firm McDermott Will & Emery has joined forces with management consulting firm Kaufman Hall on a new thought leadership series, Surviving Disruption: A Roadmap for Health Care Governance.

This series is designed to help industry leaders identify the signs of disruption, understand the implications for health care governance, and learn how to adopt responsive strategies to prepare their organizations.

Surviving Disruption currently includes the following three part podcast with accompanying planning resources:

Part 1/Episode 1: The Signs of Disruption

  • Part 1 helps directors determine whether their organization is disruption ready and offers key planning questions and considerations to frame a board and management dialogue.

Part 2/Episode 2: The Path Through Disruption

  • Part 2 leans into the responsive strategies health care leaders can adopt and the fundamental questions they should ask in order to guide their organizations through disruption.

Part 3/Episode 3: A Governance Foundation

  • Part 3 discusses how boards, through the development and oversight of a strategic governance and risk management plan, can make an extraordinary difference in confronting disruptive threats.
