McDermott Will & Emery, today announced that Fergus Gallagher has joined its London office as a partner.
“Fergus is an outstanding lawyer and has deep experience advising clients in Africa, the UK and throughout Europe. Our clients will benefit greatly from the depth of his experience, and business savvy working on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity, capital raisings, corporate restructurings and corporate governance issues,” said Hamid Yunis, Managing Partner of the Firm’s London office.

Fergus uses the experience gathered while on secondment with Morgan Stanley and Jefferies when advising both investment banks and corporate clients on public M&A, Class 1 and Related Party transactions under the UK Listing Rules and primary and secondary capital markets transactions.
Fergus’ representations include major listed and private companies across a wide variety of industry sectors. Having advised on acquisitions in Nigeria, Ethiopia, Angola and Argentina, Fergus appreciates the challenges of emerging market transactions and the importance of finding practical and pragmatic solutions to potential problems.
