McDermott assists Etia Group shareholders in connection with the sale to the Norwegian Scanship Group

Overview

McDermott Will & Emery assisted Etia’s shareholders in the sale of 100% of Etia’s share capital to the Norwegian Scanship Group.

The capital transfer allows the two perfectly complementary companies to combine their strengths and become one of the leaders in the supply of industrial solutions for the development and production of green energy.

Etia is a French engineering group specializing in the design of innovative industrial solutions supporting the circular economy, in particular, continuous thermal treatment and waste recovery processes.

McDermott Will & Emery’s team consisted of partner Bertrand Delafaye, Paul Lozniewski and Chloé Huertas, and partner Antoine Vergnat on tax issues.

Suez Ventures, also a shareholder of Etia following its acquisition of a stake in 2017, was assisted by Chammas Marcheteau, partner Lola Chammas, and counsel Stéphanie Bréjeaux.

The purchaser, the Norwegian listed Scanship Group, was assisted by Wenner Paris (Jens Föderer and Carina Grigorian) and the Norwegian firm Kvale in Oslo.
