Overview

PARIS (9 April 2014) — International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce the arrival of a well-known practitioner in its Paris office – a move that will significantly strengthen the Firm’s global Life Sciences practice.

Emmanuelle Trombe, who joins the Firm as partner in the Corporate Advisory Practice Group, focuses her practice on clients in the pharmaceutical, medical device and related healthcare industries. She represents French, European and U.S. life science companies in relation to acquisitions and divestitures, outsourcing projects, product development, cooperation and licensing agreements, regulatory issues and general corporate and commercial law matters.

Emmanuelle also represents VC funds and biotech companies in connection with their financings, including IPOs.

She is recognized in Chambers Europe 2013 for Pharma-Life Sciences in France, as “a corporate and commercial expert [who] is also an established figure in the life sciences field.”

“I was drawn to the opportunity of joining an ambitious, fast-growing team in Paris that is focused on building a top tier firm. McDermott offers me a venue for expanding my practice assisting companies in the life sciences, in close collaboration with the firm’s teams in Europe and in the US,” said Emmanuelle Trombe.

“It is a great pleasure to welcome Emmanuelle to our Firm,” said David Goldman, head of McDermott’s Corporate Advisory Practice Group. “She brings an outstanding reputation to our Corporate and Life Sciences practices and reinforces our commitment to continue to grow our international transactional practice in key strategic areas.”

“We are, as a Firm, committed to our Life Sciences practice—spanning all aspects from IP to Regulatory to Transactional,” Mr. Goldman continued. “Our commitment to Life Sciences extends beyond the United States, and expanding our Life Sciences practice in Paris offers a great opportunity for growth at this time.”

Jacques Buhart, partner-in-charge of the Firm’s Paris office, added: “Emmanuelle will work closely with our lawyers in Paris and around the globe to offer an integrated service to clients in the Life Sciences sector. The expansion of the Paris office is critical to the execution of McDermott’s strategy designed to serve a broad range of French and multinational client interests.
