CHICAGO, IL (May 31, 2017) – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery LLP has been recognized as a leading firm in 47 areas in the 2017 edition of Chambers USA. The Firm continues to maintain Band 1 rankings in national practice categories for Healthcare and Food & Beverage (Alcohol). In addition, the Firm was ranked in 13 national and 34 state categories.
McDermott’s Health practice group was named “Healthcare Team of the Year” for the third time, making it the only Firm to be honored with this distinction three separate times. This also marks the eighth consecutive year that McDermott received the nation’s sole Band 1 ranking in the Healthcare category. Additionally, McDermott’s Health practice received 30 individual lawyer rankings, 9 of whom were ranked in both the state and national categories. McDermott’s Food & Beverage (Alcohol) practice also secured a Band 1 national ranking, a recognition the practice has received since the category’s inception eleven years ago. The Firm continues to remain one of only two top-ranked firms nationally. In addition, McDermott’s Labor & Employment practice remains the only practice ranked Band 1 in its category in Illinois.
As for individual rankings, McDermott had 123 lawyer recommendations across various practice areas in 2017. These include 28 Band 1 rankings and 26 Band 2 rankings. The Firm also had 17 newly recognized lawyers and 11 lawyers receive improved rankings.
