International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Hunter Sharp has joined the Firm as a partner in the Transactions practice group based in Chicago.
“Hunter is a trusted legal advisor with a proven track record of moving complex business transactions over the finish line. His ability to service clients’ needs and cultivate success is strongly rooted in his background as in-house counsel at a leading full-service commercial real estate advisory firm,” said Harris C. Siskind, global head of McDermott’s Transactions group.
Hunter focuses his practice primarily on transactional matters, representing private equity firms, family offices and strategic investors in the structuring and negotiation of leveraged buyouts, public and private mergers, acquisitions and divestitures and other general corporate matters. Throughout the last decade, Hunter counseled prominent global investment firms and assisted clients with complex cross-border financial and corporate transactions.

Prior to joining McDermott, Hunter was vice president and assistant general counsel at Newmark Knight Frank. He previously worked an as associate in the private equity transactions group at Ropes & Gray LLP.
Hunter earned his Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law and received a Bachelor of Science from Vanderbilt University.
