CHICAGO (November 19, 2014) – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery has once again received a perfect score of 100 percent on the 2015 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. McDermott has earned a perfect score since it began participating in CEI in 2006.
“We honored to report that McDermott has once again received a perfect score on the HRC Corporate Equality Index,” said Michael Weaver, McDermott’s partner-in-charge of LGBT Diversity and Inclusion. “The scorecard is an important reflection of the Firm’s absolute commitment to diversity and inclusion and its continued work toward workplace equality within and beyond its own four walls.”
The 2015 CEI rated 972 businesses in its report, which evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices, such as non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. McDermott’s success in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria results in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.
