McDermott Earns Top Marks on Corporate Equality Index for 15th Straight Year

Overview

International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is proud to announce that it has earned a 100 percent rating on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2021 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) and the designation as one of the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality. This is the fifteenth consecutive year the Firm received a perfect score, which recognizes its inclusive work environment and equality of opportunity for all employees.

“I am proud that McDermott has once again achieved a perfect score by the Human Rights Campaign on this incredibly important survey,” said Maria Rodriguez, chair of McDermott’s LGBTQ Diversity & Inclusion subcommittee and Los Angeles-based partner. “Not only does it stand as a reflection of our commitment to diversity and inclusion broadly, it also reinforces our core values, which include embracing diverse perspectives. We know this makes us better lawyers and a better Firm.”

The CEI evaluates companies on detailed criteria falling under non-discrimination policies across business entities, equitable benefits for LGBTQ workers and their families, supporting an inclusive culture and corporate social responsibility. The results of the 2021 CEI showcase how US based companies are not only promoting LGBTQ-friendly workplace policies, but also for the 57% of CEI-rated companies with global operations who are helping advance the cause of LGBTQ inclusion in workplaces abroad. McDermott’s efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria earned a 100 percent ranking

McDermott is committed to a culture that nurtures and celebrates diversity and appreciates its importance in attracting and retaining exceptional talent.
