McDermott Expands Cross-Border Real Estate Capabilities to Support Increasingly Sophisticated Client Transactions

Overview

McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Stacie Trott has joined the Firm as a partner in its Real Estate practice based in New York. Her recognized industry savvy and extensive international experience will be an asset to McDermott’s clients as they continue to expand their global footprint.

Stacie focuses her practice on commercial real estate investments in all market and industry sectors, with a concentration in international transactions including acquisitions, sales, financings and joint ventures throughout Europe. Stacie also has experience working on matters in Asia having handled transactions in Hong Kong, the People’s Republic of China, Japan and Korea, coordinating all of the cross-border activities of her capital-providing clients.

Stacie’s arrival is part of McDermott’s broader investment in its real estate and real estate finance capabilities. In 2018, the Firm added 27 lawyers in these areas across New York and London. Stacie will work closely with the global team of over 90 lawyers in the US, UK, Italy, Germany and France to provide a range of real estate finance services for developers, lenders, operators, private owners and real estate investment trusts, landlords and tenants.

“Stacie is a trusted advisor in the real estate industry with an outstanding reputation for navigating complex cross-border transactions,” said Jeffrey Steiner, global head of the firm’s Real Estate Finance Group. “Her international experience enhances our ability to serve the needs of both foreign and domestic institutional clients in highly sophisticated transactions. We are thrilled to welcome Stacie to our growing group.”

“I am looking forward to the opportunities presented by an international platform of McDermott’s caliber,” Stacie added. “The Firm’s expansive geographic footprint, skills and reputation in the markets I serve add great value to my cross-border practice, giving me the expanded reach and resources to provide seamless service to my clients. I am excited to be able to offer a fully integrated approach and to become a part of McDermott’s team.”

Stacie comes from Duval & Stachenfeld, LLP where she served as Co-Chair of the International/Cross-Border practice group. She has been recognized among CRAIN’S “100 Leading Women Lawyers in New York City.”

Stacie earned her JD from Fordham University School of Law where she was Managing Editor of the Fordham Environmental Law Review.
