McDermott Lawyers Stephen Wu and Audrey Lu Named to Lawyers of Color’s 2014 Hot List

Overview

CHICAGO (July 7, 2014) – McDermott Will & Emery Antitrust Partner Stephen Wu and Trial Associate Audrey Lu have been named to Lawyers of Color’s (LOC) second annual Hot List, which recognizes early- to mid-career minority attorneys working as in-house counsel, government attorneys, and law firm associates and partners.

Wu is based in McDermott’s Chicago office and focuses his practice on antitrust litigation, defending mergers and acquisitions before antitrust enforcement agencies, and counseling clients on antitrust compliance issues. Wu has defended clients in litigation against federal and state antitrust and unfair competition claims, and represented clients in criminal antitrust investigations. For mergers and acquisitions, Wu has defended transactions before the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the United States Department of Justice Antitrust Division. Prior to joining the Firm, Wu was an attorney for the FTC, where he received an Award for Meritorious Service and its Stephen Nye Award, the FTC’s highest award given to a junior attorney, in 2001.

“Stephen is a superb lawyer and a key member of McDermott’s antitrust team,” said Joe Winterscheid, head of McDermott’s Antitrust & Competition Practice Group. “We are extremely proud that he has earned this well-deserved recognition.”

Lu, who is based in the Firm’s New York office, focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation. She is experienced in all phases of litigation and arbitration, including temporary and preliminary injunctions, pre-filing investigation, fact and expert discovery, complex motion practice and trial preparation. She also has significant appellate experience and has handled multiple appeals to the U.S. Court of Appeals and to the New York State Appellate Division.

“Audrey is a rising star within our department,” said Lazar Raynal, head of the Firm’s Trial Practice Group. “She displays judgment, poise and maturity well beyond her years as a lawyer.”

Wu and Lu are profiled with other Hot List honorees in Lawyers of Color’s Hot List 2014 Issue (July 2014).

Lawyers of Color was initially founded as On Being A Black Lawyer but now also produces publications for lawyers of South Asian American, Pacific Asian American, Hispanic, and Native American heritage. LOC has been recognized by the American Bar Association, National Black Law Students Association, and National Association of Black Journalists.
