NEW YORK (July 15, 2014) – McDermott Will & Emery has been named the 2014 “Team of the Year for M&A Mid-Market” in the inaugural Legal 500 US Awards. The award, which will be presented at an exclusive event at The Boathouse in Central Park on September 24, 2014, reflects the Firm’s excellence in providing clients with sophisticated, legal counsel for both domestic and cross-border transactions.
Legal 500 US award honorees were chosen based on the results of client research conducted for the Legal 500 United States 2014 guide. McDermott was among the top fourteen law firms with the highest number of nominations. The Firm was also a finalist for “Team of the Year” in the categories of Healthcare, Immigration, IP Patents: Non-Contentious and Tax: Domestic.
The Legal 500 launched their US awards for the first time this year, recognizing the best teams and individuals over the past 12 months. Over 50,000 interviews were conducted with clients to ascertain the winners. McDermott is notably described by sources quoted in the Legal 500 United States 2014 guide as a “[t]op-quality firm [with] strong and smart individuals on all levels. The [M&A] team is very professional and experienced, and has great understanding of cross-border transactions and multicultural differences.”
