McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Ted Becker, a partner in the Firm’s Chicago office and Co-Chair of the Firm’s National ERISA Litigation Practice, has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel (ACEBC). ACEBC is a national professional organization of lawyers recognized for their expertise, intellectual excellence, exemplary character, ethical behavior, and significant contributions to the field of employee benefits,

Ted focuses his practice on litigation under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). He is a leading voice and nationally recognized practitioner in this complex practice area. Ted has considerable experience in trial and appeals courts, including arguing before the United States Supreme Court and United States Circuit Courts of Appeals. Ted’s clients include well-known entities in the financial services, health care, and several other industries, including a number of Fortune 500 companies. He represents both public and private organizations, as well as non-profit organizations.

“Ted is one of the most dedicated and client-focused lawyers I know. He is a highly regarded authority in the area of ERISA litigation and ESOPs,” said Todd Solomon, a Chicago-based partner and the head of the Firm’s Employee Benefits Practice Group.

“Ted has also become a mentor to many of our younger partners and associates, helping to train the next generation of employee benefits litigators,” said Erin Turley, a Dallas-based partner who heads the Firm’s ESOP Practice.

ACEBC membership is by nomination only and limited to those who have at least 20 years of experience in the practice of employee benefits law. Fellows exhibit a commitment to raising public awareness and understanding of employee benefits law. Induction of the new Fellows took place on September 21, 2019, in Washington, DC

Ted joins Andrew Liazos, Erin Turley and Todd Solomon as McDermott partners admitted into the ACEBC.
