December 9, 2014—McDermott partner Peter L. Faber has been chosen as the recipient of New York University’s (NYU’s) 2014 Outstanding Achievement in State and Local Taxation Award. Mr. Faber was presented the award at a luncheon on December 8, during NYU’s Annual Institute on State and Local Taxation. The award recognizes “unparalleled contributions in all areas of state and local taxation.”
Mr. Faber has chaired the American Bar Association’s Tax Section and the New York State Bar Association Tax Section. He has advised multi-state and foreign corporations with respect to structuring their nationwide operations to reduce the impact of state and local taxes, and has advised corporations on state and local tax aspects of corporate acquisitions.
Mr. Faber has represented clients in state tax controversies and litigation around the country. He is a member of the advisory committees of the Tax Departments and the Tax Appeals Tribunals of both New York State and New York City.
