March 25, 2015 – Intellectual Property Today (IP Today) has ranked McDermott as one of the most active patent prosecution firms in its annual “Top Patent Firms” survey. McDermott ranked 3rd among general practice firms, and 12th overall. The Firm had a total of 2,187 patents, including 2,132 utility patents, issued in 2014. The 2014 numbers represent close to an 11% increase over the previous year.
IP Today ranks firms according to the number of patents issued in 2014 where the firm is listed as the legal representative on the issued patent. This year, 271 firms and individuals were included in the list.
