Overview
CHICAGO (JUNE 1, 2023) – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery has been recognized as one of Seramount’s Best Law Firms for Women & Diversity. The list recognizes firms that utilize best practices in recruiting, retaining, promoting, and developing women lawyers and lawyers from underrepresented groups, including people of color. McDermott was among the 50 firms that earned spots on this year’s list.
Each year, McDermott supports a number of professional women’s organizations, including the National Association of Women Lawyers, the Coalition for Women in Law and local women’s bar associations, in order to help foster virtual connections and provide opportunities to freely discuss and develop solutions to the unique challenges faced by women in the legal profession. We also support associations and organizations that promote diversity such as Minority Corporate Counsel Association and the Leadership Counsel on Legal Diversity.

ABOUT THE SURVEY
Seramount’s 2023 Best Law Firms for Women & Diversity application includes more than 300 questions about attorney demographics at different levels, flexibility, paid time off and parental leaves, and development and retention of women and people of color as well as those from other underrepresented groups. Questions about family-friendly benefits and mentoring and sponsorship participation are also included.
