McDermott Recognized as Among Leading Law Firms in Litigation Outlook 2017

Overview

CHICAGO (October 3, 2016) — McDermott Will & Emery is proud to announce that the firm’s litigation prowess has been recognized in Litigation Outlook 2017 as published by the BTI Consulting Group (BTI).

Litigation Outlook 2017 is based solely on in-depth telephone interviews with leading legal decision makers. As part of its research, BTI held in-depth telephone interviews with 300 general counsel and in-house litigation heads to determine which law firms they would least like to see as opposing counsel. The resulting responses earned McDermott a spot on the report’s “honor roll” as one of “The Most Feared Firms in Litigation.”

“It is gratifying that clients recognize what our litigators bring to the table in terms of skillset, passion, and drive,” said Lazar Raynal, global chair of McDermott’s Litigation Practice Group. “It speaks volumes that in-house lawyers at many companies view McDermott as having some of the top litigators in the country.”

McDermott was also recognized as a firm that corporate counsel know and trust to lead their companies through their most pressing litigation needs in a number of different categories. In fact, McDermott was named a “Litigation Powerhouse,” and was noted as one of only 15 “stand out” firms in the Class Actions category and one of only 17 “stand out” firms in the category of Complex Commercial Litigation.

McDermott also made the “Litigation Powerhouse” honor roll in the following categories:

  • Securities and Finance Litigation
  • IP Litigation
  • Everyday Commercial Litigation
  • Complex Employment Litigation
  • Everyday Employment Litigation
  • Product Liability Litigation

“In addition to our powerhouse status, McDermott’s Litigation Practice Group is also experiencing growth both in number and capabilities,” said Mr. Raynal. “We have recently brought on several new laterals to enhance the breadth and depth of litigation services we can offer to clients on McDermott’s global platform. We look forward to continuing the growth momentum while meeting and exceeding the expectations generated by BTI’s Litigation Outlook 2017.”
