International law firm McDermott Will & Emery represented Clinify Inc. (Clinify), a Chicago-based digital health company and McDermott Rise member, in the closing of its oversubscribed $3.1 million Series Seed financing. Clinify partners with payers and providers to leverage their cloud-based platform that combines healthcare expertise, analytics and care coordination services in order to develop and deploy the most cost-effective methods of care delivery and reduce obstacles to value-based managed care for low-income and underserved communities.
McDermott represented Clinify in this transaction as one of the 20 companies in the inaugural 2020 McDermott Rise class.
“Clinify is an innovative company with diverse leadership helping to solve an existing problem for low-income and underserved communities, making them an ideal candidate for McDermott Rise,” Dale Van Denmark, Clinify’s relationship partner, said. “We are thrilled to be a part of their success as they secure funding and continue to shape healthcare access and delivery for better outcomes across all communities.”
The McDermott team was led by Diego Gómez-Cornejo, and included Nicole Yoon, Elaine Kao, Nathan Barnett and Alex Ruiz. Dale Van Demark is the relationship partner for Clinify.
McDermott Rise was launched in July 2020 to knock down unfair barriers to success for black, indigenous and other entrepreneurs of color. To help fight systemic racism, McDermott Rise provides free legal services and access to the Firm’s global resources to 20 companies each year.
