PARIS (April 11, 2018) – McDermott Will & Emery continues its commitment to academia through the sponsorship of the Sorbonne IT – Digital and Data Law degree program at the University of Paris Sorbonne Law School (Université Panthéon-Sorbonne Paris I). This sponsorship follows that of the Master 2 Law of Electronic Commerce and Digital Economy (“Master 2 DC2EN”) program announced in November 2017.
The Sorbonne IT Digital and Data Law degree program is conceived as high-level training aimed at legal professionals who, encountering digital issues in their practice and wishing to address them, seek to acquire a high-valued-added specialization or complement certain of their expertise in the domain of personal data law, e-commerce, stakeholder responsibility, etc.
To foster interactions among students, corporate stakeholders and specialized McDermott lawyers, the students of the “Sorbonne IT – Digital and Data Law” degree program will have access to a thematic conference cycle initiated by McDermott as part of its sponsorship of the Master 2 DC2EN. These conferences began on the theme of connected cars in December 2017, followed by a roundtable on Smart Cities on April 10, 2018. Other events are also planned throughout the year will address topics such as data transfers (April 25, 2018), FinTech (May 31, 2018), competition law (June 7, 2018) and e-health (end of June 2018).
