Eric Zimmerman, as head of McDermott’s McDermott+Consulting subsidiary that provides health-care lobbying, data analytics and policy analysis, described how it captures new kinds of work that clients might otherwise not seek from a law firm. “Our clients would’ve been dubious of a law firm being able to do deep data analysis,” Mr. Zimmerman said. “It’s not the kind of thing you typically go to a law firm to provide.
