Amandeep Sidhu said that, although he has avoided previous litigation on behalf of Sikh-Americans seeking to serve in the military with their articles of faith intact, he filed a federal lawsuit over discriminatory testing required of his Sikh client over the fear that the Army could use the tests to deny the soldier a permanent religious accommodation. “This discriminatory treatment is unfounded and violates the Army’s own regulations,” Mr. Sidhu wrote in the complaint.
