Lynn Anne Shapiro, new real estate partner in McDermott’s Los Angeles office who has worked on real estate deals focused on energy, health, and hospitality for nearly 20 years, said, “I’ve done some really unique mixed-use type projects, and a lot of project development, so I’ll see unique deals that don’t initially get traditional financings and the business partners come together to provide the necessary assets and equity to get the transaction moving forward.” Ms. Shapiro expects 2014 to “have a little more traditional deal flow, weeding out the bad deals early … and getting good deals done.”
