David Goldman said the renewal of US-Cuba diplomatic relations was the impetus for the collaboration with Madrid-based Olleros Abogados to advise clients on Cuban legal matters. Mr. Goldman noted that Joseph Marx and Philipp von Ilberg had worked with the Spanish firm before they joined McDermott in 2012, creating the ability to “expand that relationship over time,” and added that the Cuba work will be both inbound and outbound.
