McDermott’s International Private Client Practice Top–Ranked by Chambers Global 2016

Overview

LONDON (April 1, 2016) – McDermott Will & Emery’s international Private Client practice has been top-ranked by Chambers Global 2016 guide, which places the practice in its Band 1 category globally. The Firm also drew accolades across 10 other practice areas.

McDermott’s much-acclaimed Private Client practice moved up from Band 2 to Band 1 for the first time, joining an international elite of top advisers to High and Ultra High-Net-Worth individuals.

Chambers recognized McDermott for its “stalwart wealth management practice in the USA with an expanding UK platform.” It was noted that the Firm “has notable expertise in global wealth audits and tax controversy issues” with clients describing McDermott lawyers as “top-flight,” “tremendously talented” and “very international, very strong and well thought of.”

Henry (Terry) Christensen III who heads the Firm’s International Private Client Practice and co-heads the New York Private Client Practice, Washington-based Leigh-Alexandra Basha and Read Moore from the Firm’s Chicago and Silicon Valley offices were cited as McDermott’s notable Private Client practitioners.

McDermott continued to receive recognition with 10 other practice rankings and maintained an international presence in the guide with 44 lawyer rankings and recommendations across multiple regions including Africa, Europe, Canada, Japan, South Africa, South Korea, UK, USA and China (listed in Chambers as MWE China Law). Aside from Private Client, McDermott received new rankings for its global Tax practice as well as Outsourcing practice in the United States, and an improved recommendation for its Corporate M&A capability in Italy.

McDermott co-chairs Jeffrey Stone and Peter Sacripanti said: “Year on year, McDermott continues to receive new and improved rankings across all major global directories. This year’s results in Chambers Global are another testament to our ongoing focus on bringing value to our clients. This has always been our fundamental goal, and we are delighted to see our commitment recognized by both our clients and the wider legal community.”
