ROME (February 8, 2016) – Project Finance International magazine has selected Line 5 of the Milan Metro, one of the major transport deals McDermott advised on in 2015, and the first-ever combined bond-loan structure in public transportation in Italy, as its “European Transport Deal of the Year.”
The prestigious magazine also recognized McDermott partner Marco Cerritelli, who led the legal team advising on the project with support of senior associate Valentina Perrone, for his leadership at the awards ceremony held in London on 3 February 2016.
“European Transport Deal of the Year 2015” is part of ”The PFI Awards”, a prestigious event that rewards the world’s excellence in the financial sector. The award highlighted the great team work of the Municipality of Milan and of companies, financiers and legal advisers involved in the project. Their joined efforts led to the creation of a strategic infrastructure for sustainable mobility in Milan, confirming McDermott team’s strong reputation in heavily regulated and complex sectors such as transportation, healthcare, roads and other infrastructure-related areas.
