James Commons, as one of the lawyers representing the King Center for Nonviolent Social Change in a licensing agreement lawsuit involving the heirs to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s estate, said that the heirs’ dropping of the suit “vindicates the King Center’s unwavering position that it neither authorized nor ratified a purported licensing agreement that would have allowed the estate to strip the King Center of its name.”
