Cym Lowell predicted that new country-by-country (CbC) corporate reports to tax authorities “will be used for risk assessment purposes and for tax examination purposes. I don’t think there’s ever been any ambiguity that tax authorities would use all the information they have to make their own assessments.” The result, he continued, is that the authorities will now say to multinationals, “You have to provide us all of the information.”
