SHANGHAI (October 3, 2017) — The MWE China Law Offices, partners of a strategic alliance with McDermott Will & Emery, was named “Regulatory and Compliance Law Firm of the Year” at the 2017 China Law & Practice Awards ceremony. The 40-plus-person team was recognized for having the greatest quality of work in the Regulatory and Compliance space.

This award is the latest in a series of accolades for MWE China. In 2016, the Firm was named the winner of China Business Law Journal’s 2016 China Business Law awards in the Anti-bribery & Compliance category. The award recognized MWE China for its significant portfolio of work in this area of law as well as the Firm’s recently expanded capabilities, stemming from the opening of the innovative MWE China Data Center, China’s first law firm discovery center. The MWE China Data Center is overseen by White-Collar partner, Leon C. G. Liu and Jared Nelson. Leon works closely with John Huang on some of the Firm’s largest regulatory compliance matters. The China Law & Practice Awards ceremony was held on September 14, 2017 in Beijing, China. Accepting the award on behalf of MWE China Law Offices was partner Michelle Gon. Winners were selected by the editorial staff at China Law & Practice, The Asian Lawyer, The American Lawyer and Legal Week.
