McDermott Will & Emery to Expand ‘Power Alleys’ Through Organic Means and M&A, Chairman Says

Ira Coleman, speaking as McDermott’s Chair, said the Firm seeks to strengthen its core “power alleys” of healthcare, tax, private client/trust, corporate litigation and M&A advisory through lateral hiring and acquisition. New York City, London and Silicon Valley are geographic targets, Mr. Coleman continued, but adding capabilities in any core area trumps geography and an ideal acquisition would add capabilities in more than one power alley within a targeted geography.
