Daniel Gottlieb, Ryan Higgins and Edward Zacharias were noted as authors of a May 18 report describing how the HHS Office of Civil Rights (OCR) will audit entities covered by HIPAA, like health plans and providers, for their data security compliance. “OCR projects that later Phase 2 Audits will focus on the Security Standards’ encryption and decryption requirements, facility access control, breach reports and complaints, and other areas identified by earlier Phase 2 Audits,” the authors wrote.
