Stephen Kranz, speaking at a National Conference of State Legislatures task force meeting, discussed states’ efforts to collect the sales and use taxes they are owed on remote transactions. State lawmakers are looking at areas outside the traditional tax arena that could be used as pressure points, Mr. Kranz said.
