McDermott continues to advise Meredith Corp. as a participant in a control battle between Nexstar and Media General, which in September 2015 agreed to a combination with Meredith. While the Nextar and Media General have completed negotiations on a merger, no definitive agreement has been signed, as Media General is still bound to the Meredith deal.
