Pierre-Arnoux Mayoly, addressing the increased use of sponsorless mezzanine financing in LBO transactions, said that business executives “do not necessarily think to seek sponsorless funding; this is not spontaneous solution.” Although such financing can support executive control and be less expensive, Mr. Mayoly continued, “it requires strong management to choose this solution.”
