Stephen Kranz told a DC Bar meeting that, while the latest version of a proposed bill in Congress to address the remote sales tax problem fixed some earlier issues, “There are some results that are inherent in the origin system that cannot be changed.” Mr. Kranz estimated that the bill could yield approximately 26 end results—factoring in the varying tax bases, tax rates, states not participating and states with no sales tax.
