Panelists Highlight Remaining Issues in Draft Unclaimed Property Statute

Diann Smith told a National Conference of State Legislatures’ Executive Committee Task Force on State and Local Taxation meeting that, under the draft Uniform Law Commission model unclaimed property statute, states can make the choice of whether or not to hire contingency fee auditors, but the act itself does not give the states a choice of putting those provisions in or not.
