James Moran discussed in this interview how his previous interests in Congress will shape his work with McDermott. “I’m interested in the growth that’s going to be taking place in Africa and the need to get them in the camp of the Western allies … [and] I’m very much interested in many of the former Soviet satellite republics who are trying to wean themselves from Russia and looking to the West,” Mr. Moran said. He also noted his focus on defense issues “that I’ve worked on for 20 years,” in such areas as weapons programs, cybersecurity and renewable fuel use by the military.
