Judge Orders FBI to Probe Records of 1950s Program That Purged Federal LGBT Workers

McDermott was pro bono counsel for the Mattachine Society in filing a lawsuit which led a federal judge to order that theFBI conduct a new search for decades-old documentsabout a 1950s US government programto purge the federal workforce of gays and lesbians. The Freedom of Information Act lawsuit was filed in 2016.
