Jason Caron, who has worked on proton beam therapy center projects for more than eight years, said that the use of such non-invasive cancer treatment is “one of the areas where the U.S. is behind” other countries such as Japan. However, Mr. Caron continued, “People are becoming educated about the benefits of proton therapy. It’s not the best for all cancers, but if you have a cancer near a major structure or are very young, proton therapy is beneficial.”
