Michael Morgan warned that ransomware attacks are pervasive and they will continue. He advised targets to make demands on the attackers by asking them to decrypt the hacked files and return them to confirm their authenticity before paying, while using a security consultant to see if malicious applications remain that will allow the attacker to return. “You don’t want to receive a program; you want a decryption key,” Mr. Morgan urged.
