McDermott’s Miami office was the site of a meeting by the lawyers for ex-president Ricardo Martinelli of Panama regarding his detention in Florida. Martinelli was taken into custody by US marshals at his home near Miami for possible extradition to Panama to face charges of corruption and illegal spying.
