Todd Solomon said that despite the Supreme Court’s Windsor ruling applying federal benefits law to same-sex marriages, state law is still inconsistent. “It’s just an administrative burden and a recipe for things to not be done quite right,” he said about such inconsistencies. Mr. Solomon added he had hoped that the Supreme Court would rule on the same-sex marriage issue this term and clear up the need for a state-by-state analysis.
